How Does Road Tech RV Determine What To Charge?
1) Our service call fee covers our driving time to your location and the cost of being mobile: maintaining our work vehicle (fuel, tires, repairs, etc.), maintaining our tools and equipment, and any non-repair time needed for your job: researching issues specific to your RV, etc.
2) Our hourly labor rate We determine what the local service centers are charging, then drop our rate by about $25-$50 less per hour. Don't forget, we come to you so you don't have to pack up your RV, drive to the dealer or service center and wait weeks or even months to get it fixed.
3) How long will the job take? Generally, we don't always know. RV's aren't exactly standardized and manufacturers jam stuff anywhere they can. Your RV furnace might actually take longer to gain access to than it does to repair. If we spend an hour just getting your furnace out and it takes only 20 minutes to repair... we will be charging you for that full amount of time.
It's definitely not inexpensive, but we are not showing up to bleed you dry. However, we are also not working for peanuts, either. A small business has significantly more expenses to cover than most people realize.
If you feel our prices are unfair or don't see the convenience and value in personalized service that comes to you, the alternative is taking your RV to the shop, waiting weeks or months, and paying even more. We'll be here, always happy to help, should you change your mind.
Off-Site Labor and Parts:
Sometimes, researching the part you need can also take quite a bit of time - especially for older model RVs that have parts that are now obsolete / no longer made, and we have to try and locate a replacement. This may require multiple online searches, phone calls, and/or emails. Any parts search that requires more than 30 minutes to find will incur a $50 per hour charge.
All parts, shipping costs, and any off-site labor must be pre-paid before parts are ordered. Some parts are not returnable and therefore are non-refundable. If it is refundable but there is a re-stocking fee or return shipping cost involved, this will be subtracted from the refund amount.
*After our best attempts, some repairs may be beyond the scope of our mobile service and require a shop to complete the work. This does NOT eliminate the minimum one hour labor rate, and the service fee for us to come to you. Our business is 100% mobile.
